Silent Scream / AIDS, YOUTH & Women - Credits
Commissioned by DESH (Deepam Educational Society for Health), this dance ballet was titled
"AIDS, Youth and Women" with Anita Ratnam playing a guest role. It was presented on January 17,
2002 at Chettinad Vidyashram, Chennai. The singular focus was on the dangers of AIDS and the
threats involved. The concept was by Dr Saraswathi Sankaran.
The work was again specially invited to New Delhi when Mr Bill Gates visited India in November
2002. It was co-presented by DESH and The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation at the Taj Palace, New
